About

Dr. Melanie Goldfarb is a fellowship-trained endocrine surgeon, a Professor of Surgery, and the Director of the Center for Endocrine Tumors and Disorders at the Saint Johns (formerly the John Wayne) Cancer Institute. Her expertise is minimally invasive surgery for thyroid cancer and disorders, hyperparathyroidism, and adrenal tumors, as well as thyroid ultrasound and radiofrequency ablation. Additionally, Dr. Goldfarb is the Medical Director for the Socal region, and has extensive experience in research and program development for Adolescent and Young Adult cancer, survivorship, supportive care, and cancer late effects.

 

After graduating from Brown University and the University of Illinois College of Medicine, she completed her general surgery residency at Harvard Medical School and endocrine surgery fellowship at the University of Miami. She has been exclusively practicing endocrine surgery in Los Angeles since 2011 and has regularly been  a Castle Connelly top doctor in Los Angeles.

 

Dr. Goldfarb practices personalized medicine, offering a ‘one-stop shop’ to patients for diagnosis and treatment plans. Her research focuses on quality of life, disparities, clinical outcomes for endocrine tumors, young adult cancer, second cancers, and cancer survivorship.
