Description

Project Narrative This administrative supplement will promote diversity in research and development in the small business and research, by funding Ana Llambias, a Latina doctoral student to adapt the protocol for Spanish language and pilot with Hispanic and Latinx patients with MCI so as to eventually diversity recruitment into iPACES neuroexergaming clinical trial. In an effort to reach more diverse persons with MCI, a portable and affordable tablet-based neuroexergame: the interactive Physical and Cognitive Exercise System (iPACES), was developed for in-home use by MCI-caregiver pairs; and pilot results for executive function and memory are promising from three-month in-home trials. The current research aims to enroll 120 MCI-caregiver pairs to exercise in-home with the iPACES neuroexergame over the next year and Ms. Llamas would work with mentors to translate and adapt the protocol for Spanish, and expand enrollment of a more diverse sample, while also receiving mentoring in research and entrepreneurship to further her own career development.
