Abstract
"The behavioral disturbances of Alzheimer's disease and other dementias are reviewed, followed by a brief survey of the common research measurements used to assess these symptoms. Pharmacological options for treating the behavioral symptoms of dementia are then discussed, highlighting findings from clinical treatment trials and other evidence. The chapter concludes with a discussion of general treatment principles to aid clinicians in addressing the ongoing severe and complex behavioral symptoms of dementia.
