Abstract
The mechanism through which cellular components communicate with each other, cells communicate with other cells and the environment is referred as cell signaling. It comprises of three main stages signal reception, signal transduction, and response to the signal. These processes are performed through chains of biochemical reactions in a cascaded fashion. These cascaded reactions are referred as signaling pathways. The understanding of signaling pathways requires a holistic approach which is done by systems biology.
