Abstract

Addition of saturated or unsaturated fatty acids to normal or Factor XII-deficient human plasma markedly increased their euglobulin fibrinolytic activity. Differences in the effects of saturated and unsaturated acids were of a quantitative rather than a qualitative nature. The activities obtained with the fatty acids approached those obtained by the precipitation of euglobulins in the presence of dextran sulphate.
