Gastric duplication cysts

Gastric duplication cysts are unusual abnormalities of the gastrointestinal tract that usually present with symptoms early in life. This patient's duplication cysts were seen in utero by ultrasonography and confirmed after birth by ultrasonography and computed tomography (CT). This case is atypical in that she exhibited no clinical symptoms. Radiologic evaluation confirmed four intra-abdominal cysts and the patient underwent surgical exploration. Usually these cysts can be resected, but the surgeon must be prepared to tailor his or her operation based on the operative findings.
