Abstract

This chapter provides a general overview of chemotherapy for brain tumors, touching upon the topics of drug delivery, drug development, 'traditional' cytotoxic therapies, 'newer' biologic agents, cancer stem cells, immunotherapy, and gene therapy. We also highlight the challenges inherent to treating glioblastoma with these modalities and future possibilities with gene therapy, combination therapies, and personalizing treatments to specific subgroups of patients.
