Abstract

A multitude of etiologies exist to account for voice disturbances in patients who present to the laryngologist with a voice disorder. Although neurologic diseases are not frequent causes for voice disorders, it is essential for the laryngologist to be familiar with the systemic and voice manifestations of these diseases. This review will discuss neurologic diseases that affect the nervous system below the level of the cerebrum with emphasis on the voice manifestations.
