Abstract

This chapter reviews the trajectory and predictable progression of problems encountered by people with dementia. It presents Watch Over Me, a practical framework and set of guiding principles for clinicians, patients and families to use in preparing for the future, making treatment decisions, developing individualized plans for care, preventing or alleviating suffering, and achieving a satisfactory sense of life completion and closure.
