About
Ari Robicsek, MD, is Chief Analytics & Research Officer at Providence, a 51-hospital health care system based on the West Coast of the United States. His teams are responsible for a) supporting hospital and medical group operations by democratizing data, discovering and disseminating best practices, measuring quality and innovating analytical technology; b) growing Providence’s clinical trials capabilities; c) growing Providence’s ‘evidence engine’ that joins health services researchers with clinicians and healthcare operators doing tests-of-change in the use of technology, health equity and new models of care; d) expanding the clinical penetration of Providence’s strong genomics capabilities.
Dr. Robicsek, who specializes in infectious diseases, has a longstanding passion for data science and health care informatics. Before coming to Providence, he was vice president of clinical analytics at NorthShore University HealthSystem in Evanston, Illinois, where his team received multiple honors for information technology. In 2017, he was one of Health Data Management's Top 25 Physician IT leaders.
Ari’s academic work has been published in JAMA, Annals of Internal Medicine, Nature Medicine, The Lancet Infectious Diseases, NEJM Catalyst and other journals. He has co-chaired Epic’s Research Advisory Council and Data Scientist Forums, and been a keynote presenter at national and international meetings on clinical analytics.
Dr. Robicsek received his medical degree from the University of Toronto Medical School, where he also served his internship and residency. He completed a fellowship in infectious diseases at Harvard Medical School.
